Don’t Believe Everything You Hear, Atlanta Home Prices Are Stable

The Living Room of a 1010 Midtown New Condo in AtlantaThis is just another piece of evidence supporting the fact that you can’t listen to national news about real estate. The real estate market is LOCAL, and while many markets have experienced a decrease in home value over the last year, Atlanta has not. In fact, many homes are worth more today than they were a year ago, according to AJC writer John Adams.  The fact that Atlanta had an increase in home prices in 2007 is not a commonly accepted piece of information by Atlanta residents. He also conducted a poll and asked everyone he saw if they thought home prices were up, the same or down from last year, and almost everyone said that prices were down significantly. While the rumors support a decrease in home prices, the statistics prove otherwise. Adams attributes our increasing home prices to the fact that over the past few decades, the Atlanta new home prices have not increased as drastically as other markets. We still have considerably lower price points than many other parts of the nation.
Alright, what’s my point - well, in case you have missed some of the other blog posts about the Atlanta economy, now is the time to buy a new home in Atlanta. Prices are not dropping, and will only continue to rise. There is speculation that the average price point is going to drastically increase sometime next year. Buy now while homes are affordable. Atlanta is the only city in which you can buy a luxurious, new high-rise condo, with breathtaking views of Downtown Atlanta and Buckhead - like the one pictured - starting at only $220,000. At 1010 Midtown, your dream of a hip, trendy lifestyle in the middle of Atlanta’s nightlife becomes a reality.
