Ri Ra is the new Irish Pub that has opened at 12th & Midtown, and the exceptional cuisine combined with the authentic Irish atmosphere has created a lot of buzz. In no time at all, Ri Ra is going to be one of Atlanta’s most popular restaurants.
Of course when it comes to a restaurant, the most important aspect is the food. Well, Ri Ra doesn’t disappoint in this department. The entire menu is an enticing fusion of traditional Irish Fare and American favorites with an Irish twist. In short, there is something for everyone. Those that love the traditional Irish cuisine will be happy to see favorites like boxtys, corned beef & cabbage, shepherds pie, fish & chips and more. But for the all-Americans that want nothing more than a thick, tasty cheeseburger, you’ll love the wide selection of American classics that even includes a Guinness BBQ Burger.
The menu is complemented with the authentic Irish decor and staff - yes, staff. The owners of the Midtown Ri Ra have brought 10 native Irish men and women here on temporary visas in order to add to the ambiance of the pub.
And lastly, one can’t overlook the history of Ri Ra.

The biggest concert of the summer is taking place directly across from 1010 Midtown at Piedmont Park. Sir Paul McCartney, who is known as the most successful musician and composer in pop music history and wrote the most covered song of all time, is the headliner for this year’s Green Concert. It’s pretty unbelievable that this musical genius is lending his talent to help support the Piedmont Park Conservancy, but it says a lot about his character and devotion to the environment.
Needless to say Atlanta has been buzzing with the news since it was announced earlier this week. At the show, you can expect to hear Sir McCartney take you back through all of the songs that helped make him the icon he is today, which includes popular tunes from the Beatles and Wings.
The show is scheduled for August 15th and tickets are only $79.50. This is an incredible bargain considering tickets to see Sir Paul McCartney were selling for hundreds of dollars last time he came through Atlanta. Proceeds from the event go directly to the conservancy and the 53-acre expansion they have planned for the park as well as on-going maintenance.

In an economy where stores seem to be closing left and right, 1010 Midtown had its own concerns about attracting stores to the great new high rise. The concept and location is fantastic, but would that be enough? And if stores and restaurants filled the floors of 1010 Midtown, would they thrive? Such questions crowded the heads of the luxury tower builders.
With the opening of a few great restaurants, those concerns have been squashed. The business men and women who have chosen to open a new restaurant in 1010 Midtown believe the prime location more than outweighs the recession.

1010 Midtown is adding four new “tasty” additions to the high rise, giving Atlanta diners something to buzz about. The high rise has already attracted lots of attention from Atlanta for its beautiful design - now the residential and commercial high rise has everyone talking about the new restaurants opening this year.
The prominent location was the biggest draw for Scott Kilpatrick, co-founder of RA Sushi, one of the new restaurants that recently opened in 1010 Midtown. According to an article in the AJC, Scott didn’t have any regrets about opening a new restaurant despite the recession. It was 1010 Midtown’s great location that made him feel secure. The restaurant naturally has a high energy atmosphere boasted by lively music.

Atlanta has made it onto many lists in the past year. From the “Best Place to Buy a Home” to the “Most Wired Cities,” Atlanta is consistently making it into the top 10. Instead of being a city that is known for being the best in one particular aspect, we have a city that is great all-around. Just take a look for yourself (now there were so many lists that Atlanta was on, we couldn’t include them all. So, these are just a few examples - for the entire list, visit the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce website):
- “Top Cities with the Most Fortune 500 Headquarters,” from Fortune magazine, May 5, 2008 - Atlanta is #5
- “Global Cities Index,” from Foreign Policy magazine, November/December 2008 - Atlanta is #8
- “Metro Areas with Largest Population Increase 00 - 07,” from U.S. Census Bureau, March 27, 2008 - Atlanta is #1
- “America’s Fastest-Growing Large & Small Metros,” From Forbes, January 30, 2008 - Atlanta is #3

The Woodruff Arts Center currently houses Symphony Hall where all of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra concerts are held. Unfortunately, it has a reputation for poor acoustics which do not do the Symphony or other performers any justice. Thus, a new master plan for the Woodruff Arts Center has been approved and a brand new concert hall is the highlight of the project. Currently, there is not an estimated completion date, but we do know that plans are in the making. To help improve the acoustics of the venue, the new concert hall will have a state-of-the art interior with an in-the-round auditorium and movable ceiling. Not only will the new concert hall provide an adequate venue for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, but it will also change the overall appearance of the Woodruff Arts Center, a 41-year-old building in Atlanta. The concert hall will rest upon Callaway Plaza and require some demolition of the existing structure. We do not have any renderings of the new building, but surely that is the next step in the master plan.

Big news is brewing in the 12th & Midtown development as two extraordinary companies have leased more than 120,000 square feet of office space. As of now, these are the first two tenants to secure space in the exquisite office tower of 12th & Midtown, which is set to open in 2010.
Seyfarth Shaw LLP, one of America’s leading full-service law firms, will lease 84,000 square feet of Class A office space at the Midtown Atlanta tower. The company searched for nearly three years to find the best location to expand its Atlanta office. No other options were able to compare with the exceptional location and first-class amenities offered by 12th & Midtown, and so the decision was made for Seyfarth Shaw. The location more than anything seemed to be the deciding factor for the national leading law firm. Helping to meet some of the demands of their team members, the office tower at 12th & Midtown provides close proximity to MARTA, Piedmont Park and some of the city’s best restaurants and culture.
