1010 Midtown Sees Success Due to Improved Housing Market

Posted on Tuesday, April 26th, 2011

According to a recent article in Fortune magazine, real estate is on the road to recovery. A company called Metrostudy has tracked the U.S. new home inventory for more than 30 years and believes that the prices of new homes are going to rise.

Metrostudy covers 19 states (65% of the housing market) and in the 41 cities analyzed, 78,000 houses are either vacant and for sale or under construction. Compare this to the 343,000 homes in mid-2006, and it seems as though the housing market is headed toward a shortage. The article states that this lack of new construction combined with the market’s lower-than-ever prices is setting the stage for a housing recovery.

As the economy continues to recover, more and more new homebuyers will enter the market. In cities like Atlanta, where the cost of owning is 34 percent less than renting, more people will look to buy homes. Once the demand for new housing increases, the lack of supply caused by decreased construction should make prices start to rise.

As an example of the increased interest in home ownership, 1010 Midtown Condos has sold and closed 34 homes during the 1st quarter of 2011. It seems as though buyers are falling in love with all of the included features such as hardwood floors, expansive window walls, granite countertops, wood cabinetry, 10-foot finished ceilings and more.

Amenities at 1010 Midtown include a state-of-the-art fitness center, swimming pool, club room, cabanas and manicured gardens. Plus, residents are always minutes from shopping, dining and entertainment at Piedmont Park, the High Museum and the Fox Theatre.

12th & Midtown Hosts Jeffrey Fashion Cares

Posted on Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

jeffrey-fashion-cares-eblast-090710-v3A few weeks ago, Midtown was buzzing with excitement for the annual charity event, Jeffrey Fashion Cares. In its 18th year, the event drew more than 800 guests to the Midtown Mile for a good cause.

The event, held in the new 12th & Midtown building, featured a raised runway to showcase collections from designers in Jeffrey Kalinsky’s namesake boutiques. Beautiful garments and accessories were modeled down the runway from designers such as Proenza Schoulder, Lanvin and Bottega Veneta. The evening was dedicated to Kalinsky’s father, a retailer who passed away in April. His father helped Kalinsky launch Jeffrey Atlanta in 1990.

But more than bold colors and feminine fabrics, the evening was about charity. Tickets to the event were $500 each, and companies such as Tiffany, Nordstrom and Mercedes-Benz contributed $1,500 to $25,000 each for sponsorships. An auction preceded the runway show, garnering additional donations for local AIDS and breast cancer foundations.

Jeffrey Fashion Cares demonstrates Atlanta’s sense of community. The yearly event has totaled more than $9 million for charities.

Though this event is over, something is always happening on the Midtown Mile. Residents of 1010 Midtown‘s luxury Atlanta condos are enveloped in the luxury lifestyle of the area. From hot restaurants, boutiques and cultural venues, everything is mere steps away.

CB2 is Open for Business

Posted on Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

cb2shotAtlanta home owners have a new place to outfit their condos and lofts with the opening of CB2 in mid-August. The furniture and home decor store opened in the bottom of 1010 Midtown’s residential tower and is impressing shopper after shopper. Catering to Gen Y buyers, CB2 fills its space with trendy items as well as pieces with clean, classic lines. “One of a Find” items are selected by the store, with the home accents available only in limited numbers.

The opening of CB2 puts Midtown in the same company as Miami’s South Beach, New York’s SoHo District and West Hollywood’s Sunset Boulevard. With only eight stores in the country, it’s an honor for the Midtown Mile to be selected as the prime location for CB2. An honor, but not a surprise.

As residents of 1010 Midtown will tell you, the Midtown Mile is an amazing place to live. With an eclectic mix of restaurants and nightlife, residents have no trouble satiating cravings for any cuisine or finding a luxe spot for happy hour.
