This is just another piece of evidence supporting the fact that you can’t listen to national news about real estate. The real estate market is LOCAL, and while many markets have experienced a decrease in home value over the last year, Atlanta has not. In fact, many homes are worth more today than they were a year ago, according to AJC writer John Adams. The fact that Atlanta had an increase in home prices in 2007 is not a commonly accepted piece of information by Atlanta residents. He also conducted a poll and asked everyone he saw if they thought home prices were up, the same or down from last year, and almost everyone said that prices were down significantly.
