Loews Atlanta Hotel Awarded AAA Four Diamond Award

Posted on Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

loews-barCongratulations Loews Atlanta Hotel!

Earlier this month, the Loews Atlanta hotel was inspected to see if it qualified for the prestigious AAA Four Diamond award. The inspector was given a hotel tour and returned over a weekend for a “secret shop” of the property. Needless to say, Loews Atlanta Hotel passed the inspection and is now a AAA Four Diamond hotel, an honor that has been awarded to less than 4 percent of over 31,000 properties AAA has reviewed. The inspector had high compliments for Loews Atlanta Hotel’s facilities and service.

Loews Atlanta Hotel features 414 beautifully appointed guest rooms, including 44 suites. Though the hotel is opulent and luxurious, it is also one of the most pet-friendly and kid-friendly hotels around. Children can take advantage of lending libraries, Kidbanas by the pool, a special menu with healthy choices and a Fisher Price welcome gift. When pets check in with their pet parents, they receive a swag bag with a pet tag, bowl and special treat. Loews even offers a room service menu for dogs!

This beautiful hotel is located right beside the luxury Atlanta condo 1010 Midtown. Loews Atlanta Hotel is the perfect place for out-of-town guests to stay, but residents of 1010 Midtown can take advantage of being mere steps from events held at the venue.

Take a Walk in the Park

Posted on Friday, May 21st, 2010

Piedmont ParkPiedmont Park has long been Atlanta’s favorite in-town park for hosting a variety of events and activities from the Dogwood festival to roller blading, an afternoon picnic or walking the family pet.

The park is a historical site and was the site of many large gatherings including the Piedmont Exposition of 1887 and the Cotton States and International Exposition of 1895. The Cotton States and International Exposition was a World’s Fair. Not only did it run for 100 days, but it featured 6,000 exhibits and attracted 800,000 visitors. The legacy of this huge event lives on in many of the park’s facilities today.

From ball fields, to a small lake (now 11.5 acres and named Clara Meer) to the stone balustrades scattered throughout the park which are the remnants of steps leading to a large building built for the Exposition, glimpses of the 1895 Cotton States and International Exposition are still present.

Here is a glimpse of summer events:

  • On Saturdays (now through the Fall) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Green Market hosts farmers, local artisans, music and more.

The “Midtown Mile” is Atlanta’s “Rodeo Drive”

Posted on Friday, March 7th, 2008

002_enlarge.jpgAccording to an article in the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the “Midtown Mile”, a 14-block stretch of Peachtree Street beginning at the Fox Theatre on the south end and stretching to Woodruff Arts Center on the north end, is expected to be filled with one million square feet of high-end retailers by 2012. Ideally, the “Midtown Mile” will be the Atlanta equivalent to Los Angeles’ “Rodeo Drive” and New York City’s “Fifth Avenue.” The development of these high-end retailers could potentially generate nearly $477 million in additional annual retail sales and entice tourists to stay an extra night in Atlanta. The plans for this desired stretch of Peachtree Street are huge, and this is going to be the hottest street in town. Hotels, restaurants and retail stores are going to vie for the opportunity to be located in this prestigious stretch of land. By purchasing a condo now in this location, in five years you will have one of the most desired homes in all of Atlanta.

7 reasons to buy a home in today’s market

Posted on Monday, March 3rd, 2008

In a recent company newsletter of Wells Fargo, there was a feature by David Bach, financial coach and #1 bestselling author, giving seven reasons to buy in today’s market despite news reports of a slump. According to Bach, the main reasons why you should ignore what the news is telling you and purchase a home anyway is:

  1. Homeownership is a solid long-term investment. While up front this may seem like a huge financial burden and responsibility, being a homeowner provides you with a new level of financial well-being that renting does not. As Bach says, “It’s probably the smartest investment you will ever make during your lifetime.” This is because, historically speaking, the housing market has been making consistent gains since the ’50s.
  2. The IRS gives big advantages to homeowners. Owning a home can be a huge write-off when it comes to tax time. Start receiving more money in April by deducting mortgage interest rates, property tax and more.
  3. Generally speaking, home values are still rising. Even though 3.2% rise in home prices in 2007 is almost half of the 6.0% annual average of appreciation, the prices of homes are still increasing. You will be able to sell your home for more than you paid for it, no problem.
